Autograph letter signed to George Harris about the first publications of the Psychological Society for Great Britain (1875). Piece of mouldmade writing paper, 11 x 18 cm. Written on one side. Dated '20 Apl 75' and signed 'Ytruly/ JW Cox'. 7 lines. Traces of glue on the reverse. Some notes in other hands. Written fast and not too clearly. Edward William Cox, known as Serjeant Cox (1809-1879), was a British lawyer and writer on diverse subjects who managed to build a comfortable fortune by establishing large landed properties. In 1875 he founded the Psychological Society for Great Britain with George Harris and this letter is about asking contributors for publications. 'I send note on yr .... If you'd get Dr. Ankendron (Rukardron? something like that) and Galton to contribute a paper' (and so forth). Interesting for researchers of the history of psychology.
