Arthur Shearly Cripps (10 June 1869 – 1 August 1952) was an English Anglican priest, missionary, activist, short story writer, and poet who spent most of his life in Southern Rhodesia. To this day he is still revered in Zimbabwe for his opposition to the land distribution policies of the British South Africa Company and his taking the side of the African population against this. This copy has the bookplate of Bishop Edward Francis Paget dd 1932.
