With the signature of Ronald Duncan to half title, founder member of the Francis Bacon Society and well known Baconian. Ronald Frederick Henry Duncan (1914–1982) English writer, poet and playwright of German descent, now best known for his poem The Horse and for preparing the libretto for Benjamin Britten's opera The Rape of Lucretia, first performed in 1946.
