True First & Only Edition. 8vo. 70pp. A very good or better bright example in the publisher's original pictorial paper-covered-boards printed in gray & navy & lettered in blue at the spine - a small chip at the upper spine joint repaired, inscribed on the ffe by the author; "To Lucy Cundiff / with best wishes from / C. S. Forester". Very handsome indeed in a very good dustwrapper [published slightly oversized & almost always found worn] with matching cover illustration, showing moderate use - two small chips, narrow loss at the spine crown & upper cover without loss of lettering, neatly mended closed tear, rubbing at the extremities. Forester's only mystery & very uncommon inscribed. A very nice copy of a book that usually turns up in poor shape because publisher Saunders' wartime production made use of rather cheap materials that had little staying power. /Dust Jacket Included.
