[Berlinghieri: *4, A-I8]. (VIII, 144 pp.). (Some wormholes in blank margin, leraves 1 - 12 and pp. 39 - 48, not affecting the text.). 1) Hirsch II, 563: Dezeimeris, Dict.hist. II, 339: First ed. with 45 case histories. Fontana discusses a wide variety of diseases contracted by those [Europeans] travelling abroad, specifically to the East Indies. The table of contents on page 163 contains 8 chapters in which we find discussions of fevers, dissentery, Cholera, 'Epatitide', rheumatism, scorbutus, venereal diseases, surgical problems. The ailments and diseases are linked to hot climates. Fontana, in his footnotes, mentions the work by Lind and Clark, published in 1771 called 'An Essai on Diseases incidental to Europeans in Hot Climates' and a second work by Clark, 'Observations on the diseases in long voyages to hot climates and particularly on those which prevail in the East Indies' published 1773. 2) Hirsch I, 484: Presentation copy inscribed in ink at lower margin of printed title to Franco Vall..?, this name put in the place of another name which has been crossed out.

Voorwaarden bij de verkoop volgens de richtlijnen opgesteld door NVvA en ILAB. Prijzen excl. btw [Nederland en Europa] en porto, behoudens houders van een BTW registratie nummmer. Porto tegen kostprijs. Normaalgesproken levering met factuur in het geval van bekende relaties, veelal wordt gevraagd de factuur bij vooruitbetaling te voldoen. Oudere stukken worden aangetekend en verzekerd verstuurd. Koeriersdiensten Fedex, DHL etc. mogelijk op verzoek, kosten voor de kopende partij.
