The top edges are gilt. The bindings are lightly bumped & rubbed. Vol. 1 and the spine of Vol. 2 are faded. xiv, [1] leaf & 524 pages; and vi, [1] leaf & 600 pages. There is an owner's ink signature on the front endpaper of Vol. 1 & there is some soiling to the front endpaper of Vol. 2. The contents are very good. Good.

Translation of "Les femmes des douze premiers cesars". Based upon Hon. Bysse Molesworth's translation. There is a "biographical notice of the author" in Volume I, pp. [xi]-xiv. Good .
