Boshoff, A.F. & Vernon C.J. - Annals of the Cape Provincial Museums. Volume 13. Part 9. The Distribution and Status of Some Eagles in the Cape Province.

Cape Provincial Museum, Albany Museum, Grahamstown, Natural History. Volume 13. Part 9. 8th October 1980. Stapled wraps, p.107-p131. illustrated, 184mm wide x 240mm high. New unread copy. A study of the distribution and abundance of some eagles in the Cape Province based upon a postal survey followed by a ground-truth survey. Despite certain disadvantages attached to such a survey, and the vast area covered, it was possible to obtain a valid picture of the distribution of the species involved as well as realistic estimates of their abundance. It was not possible to make statements on an trends that may exist but the survey indicated that of the nine species of eagles that are known to breed in the Cape Province five appear to have viable, albeit small, populations while a sixth species may be declining to extirpation.
