In 1794 he travelled to the Cape of Good Hope and Norway, an account of which he published in 2 vols. in 1802 'In 1798 Dingemans was appointed naval surgeon-major by the Government of the Bataafsche Republiek... In 1801 Dingemans resigned his official duties and set up at Dordrecht as a civil physician...'.: This publication is a prize essay answering the question for 1804 set by the Amsterdam 'Heelkundig Genootschap', it discusses a post mortal caesarian section.
