A German edition translated from the French "Etat actuel du Tunkin, de la Cochinchine, et des Royaume de Camboge, Laos et Lac-tho" Paris 1812. This narrative is mainly based on De Montyon's work, which was originally published under a different title in 1811. La Bissachère (1764-1830), a French missionary who came to Tonkin in 1790 and stayed there for 17 years. Cordier BI 998.
