Praha, Botanical Department of the National Museum, 1934-1938. Four volumes in five. 8vo (24.0 x 16.0 cm). 1,054 pp.; 550 plates, numerous text illustrations. Loose, as issued, in original, uniform printed wrappers. = Rare original Czech edition in a seldom-seen complete state. Edited by the Czech botanists Karel Kavina (1890-1948) and Albert Pilát (1903-1974). Probably never completed. Kavina's manuscripts were destroyed during WWII (see Stafleu and Cowan, II: 510). Stafleu and Cowan give a detailed collation but only refer to the later French edition which, however, has the same amount of plates. Divided into: Amanita by R. Veselý (1934. 80 pp.; 32 plates); Pleurotus by A. Pilát (1935. 193 pp.; 80 plates); Polyporaceae by Pilát in two volumes (1936-1942. text volume: 624 pp.; atlas: [v] pp.; 374 plates); and Omphalia by K. Cejp (1936. 152 pp.; 56 plates). All in very good condition, clean and unmarked. Stafleu and Cowan, 7935 (under Pilát); Volbracht (later French editions), 337 (Cejp), 1611-1612 (Pilát), 2187 (Vesely).
