Sweeney, James Johnson - Kurt Seligmann Exhibition

New York, Nierendorf Gallery, 1941. Softbound. Black, color-illustrated stapled wraps. Three stapled sheets plus cover, eligmann is called a Swiss-American Surrealist painter, engraver, and occultist. This early catalogue has a brilliantly colored serigraph cover in 7 colors on black paper. Text consists of a 4-page essay "The minotaur and the poet," by Nicolas Calas printed on orange paper. Biography, list of exhibitions and reproduction of an etching are on yellow paper. Lists 36 works in total. This exhibition was held at the Nierendorf Gallery in New York from April 21 to May 12, 1941, when the artist had been living in New York less than 2 years. Absolutely pristine copy and very attractive. VG .
