Serizawa, Keisuke, - Calendar 1960. 12 brightly coloured hand stenciled designs on mulberry paper.

No publisher information, 1959. Keisuke Serizawa (1895-1984) was a Japanese textile designer. In 1956, he was designated as a Living National Treasure by the Japanese government for his katazome stencil dyeing technique. His folk-art productions included kimono, paper prints, wall scrolls, folding screens, curtains, fans, and calendars. Between 1946 and 1984 he published these beautiful series of hand stencilled calendars, which after is death his studio continued to publish for a further 4 years. - The folder somewhat yellowed, in the longitudinal folding with paper strips professionally reinforced, sheets occasionally somewhat foxing, else a fine copy of this beautiful calendar in katazome stencil dyeing technique. 12 coloured sheets, losely inserted in original card mulberry paper covered folder with decorative stencilled title label 4°, calendar sheets: 37 x 28 cm, original card folder.
