The first to his four friends: Clara van Vlooswijck, Eva Hasselaer, Alida Tromp and Adriana Brasser. The second to his to his 'Brothers, Friends and Acquaintances'. In these letter he reports in a burlesque way of his journey on the VOC ship Zuidpolsbroek, where he was the highest authority as chief merchant.
