(7 coloured), contemporary uniform halfleather , smooth gilt back with two labels, marbled covers and endpapers (paperon covers worn, but a nice set). First edition of a pioneering work on forensic medicine. The author is famous for being one of the founders of toxicology. The plates depict poisonous snakes, plants, fungi etc. .
