Small labels on spine and stamps on foredges. Additional stamps and a card pocket inside. Corners of pages 817-824 are torn; a couple of the corners have been repaired with plain tape. Occasional closed tears on page edges have been repaired with masking tape. Otherwise, text is clean and binding is tight. Volume 27, Part 2 of the children's magazine ST. NICHOLAS, containing the monthly issues from November 1900 through April 1901. Filled with stories, poems, and educational articles, with lots of black and white illustrations. This volume features an article by Theodore Roosevelt called "What We Can Expect of the American Boy," with an accompanying portrait of the president (p. 571), multiple contributions by children's author Tudor Jenks, and an interesting article by pioneering aerial photographer William Abner Eddy explaining how he used kites to take bird's-eye photographs of the Statue of Liberty (p. 725).
