The Battle of Mars-la-Tour, Battle of Rezonville or Vionville. August 16, 1870, during the Franco-Prussian War. It took place in the vicinity of Mars-la-Tour, a village about twenty kilometers west of Metz. This is the last great cavalry battle in Europe.
