HOLMES, Oliver Wendell. ELSIE VENNER: A Romance of Destiny. In two volumes. Boston: Ticknor and Fields, 1861. First edition, all points relating to type wear conforming to Blanck's probable third printing. However, the inserted catalogue in Vol. I is dated May, 1862. Blanck did not locate a third printing copy with any catalogue; he records first, second and fourth printings with catalogues dated from January to March, 1861. Brown cloth stamped in gilt and blind. There are bookplates and ink names on the front endpapers. A few signatures are starting and the cloth shows wear especially at extremes. These are good copies, interesting bibliographically.
