Full colour pictorial laminated boards. = a detailed study of the flora and fauna of a small archipelago south of Mallorca in the Mediterranean. There are well-illustrated chapters, by various specialists, on the geology, palaeontology, botany, vegetation, and all major and minor animal groups, including Insecta, Mollusca (terrestrial and marine), birds, fish, etc., etc. The herpetology part, written by A. Salvador, covers pp. 427-437, and has two full colour photos (one page-sized), and two text figures. A total of 13 (sub)species of lizards are described, the occurrence of a marine turtle is noted. Written in Catalan. Boards a bit bumped and creased, otherwise a very good, clean copy.
