Novel about three young merchant navy officers on a ship captured by pirates in the 1930s their imprisonment on a fortified island and their escape by sea. Has black and white frontis and plates. First publication date on reverse of title-page only. Green covers with black illustration are rubbed at edges and with bumped corners, binding is a little skewed but otherwise sound, clean end-papers, pages246 and 247 have "Hopskoch" and "Hopskcopch" written in blue pencil in the margins, pages are otherwise clean.
