A handsome copy.Abel Rémusat's grammar was the first useful Chinese grammar to be printed in Europe. Abel-Rémusat carefully distinguishes between classical or literary Chinese and the vernacular based on Mandarin. The two languages are treated in two different sections, "Style antique" and "Style moderne".
