This copy has some spine lean, light some soil to the edges of the text block, board edge wear/mottling, a stain to the ffep, a notary type blind stamp from a previous owner to the ffep. This scarce First Edition meets all first edition points, there are 18 lines of text on the copyright page with no mention of edition or printing, the ISBN number appears on the lower RH corner of the rear board. The book has a full red cloth binding with silver inlay to the spine printing. Even with everything that I have mentioned above an OK copy, far from perfect of Clancy's first novel. While not exactly a limited edition this publisher is well known for low first printing runs for new authors, in this case reportedly 5000 copies. This book is the basis for the Alex Baldwin, Sean Connery movie and is the first Jack Ryan novel. THIS COPY IS IN MY POSSESSION AND WILL NORMALLY SHIP NEXT DAY. Very Good +/Missing.
