Firmetta antica di possesso al margine della pagina di titolo; un forellino di tarlo al margine interno del volume, peraltro condizioni molto buone. Legatura coeva in tutta pelle; dorso a nervi ornato e dorato con tassello di titolo; risguardie in carta marmorizzata (usure superficiali ai piatti). Il trattato del giansenista poi pentito Nicole ebbe una risposta da parte di Claude Jean con “La defense de la Reformation contre le livre intitule Prejugez legitimes contre les calvinistes”. “Ce livre, dont le but était de soutenir Arnauld, fut composé sous ses yeux et avec son approbation”.
