East Village Other was an underground newspaper from New York (duh), known for its early embrace of the counterculture and counterculture aesthetics, often using absurdist pieces to provide social commentary. As an early proponent of the underground comix movement, EVO published work by R. Crumb (not in this issue) and others, as well as publishing a paper devoted to comix. This issue with a lengthy first-person account of The Aquarian Exposition, better known as Woodstock. Given that the event happened on August 15-18, this is a very early, contemporary media account of the festival. This includes mention of Hog Farm, muddy conditions and a general trippy, positive atmosphere, accompanied by photos, including those of musicians Janis Joplin, Pete Townsend, Roger Daltrey, Ravi Shankar and Cat Mother, among others. GOOD condition. Horizontal fold crease present. Moderate toning. A few small tears and creases along the fore edge. A few faint spots of staining. Mailing label on the upper front cover. Good .

Return policy:
Any book may be returned within 30 days of receipt for refund of book price. Buyer responsible for return shipping. For books misdescribed, or for wrong books sent, or any other errors on our part, we will refund book price plus return cost of shipping.
