Marin, John (artist and author) - John Marin by John Marin New York, Holt, Rinehart and Winston. Cloth. no date, perhaps 1970s. First edition, stated. Blue cloth. No jacket. 176 pp. Black and white illustrations throughout, along with a few in color. A monograph on the life and work of John Marin, an American painter who worked primarily in watercolors. Much of his work pushed the boundaries of watercolor painting during the early to mid 1900s. This work consists primarily of musings by Marin, interspersed among illustrations (how's that for alliteration?). GOOD condition. Book bumped at the top of spine, with some creasing to the pages in that area. General uneven fading to the covers, with minor soiling, rubbing and edgewear. Minor toning in the interior. Good .
