East Village Other was an underground newspaper from New York (duh), known for its early embrace of the counterculture and counterculture aesthetics, often using absurdist pieces to provide social commentary. As an early proponent of the underground comix movement, EVO published work by R. Crumb, Trina Robbins (neither in this issue) and others, as well as publishing a paper devoted to comix. Lengthy interview with Jerry Rubin in this issue. Usual articles on politics, counterculture, art, theater, etc. GOOD condition. Horizontal fold crease present. Moderate toning. Paper a bit brittle.
