A speech by the former Prime Minister of Portugal, Antonio de Oliveira Salazar, contemplating the rise in power of Russia and the Soviet Union and its impact on Western Europe and the world. Salazar anticipates the Cold War, discussing possible isolation of Russia by Western powers and the potential ramifications of war. The speech was given to officers of the army and navy of Portugal at their presentation of compliments to the Prime Minister on April 28th, 1948. Antonio de Oliveira Salazar was Prime Minister of Portugal from 1932 to 1968, founding the Estado Novo, or New State, a corporatist authoritarian form of government that embraced conservative and nationalist ideals. GOOD condition. Heavy browning to the piece, especially along the edges. Minor wrinkling and creasing, including a diagonal crease to the rear cover. Minor soiling. Good .

Return policy:
