Front of the dust wrapper pasted on the front endpaper. Old name and date on front endpaper "W.E.C. Tylee. Oct 29th 1924". This copy has an original print of a previously unknown photograph of Sir Ernest Shackleton on the half-title page. When compared with other known photographs it is clear that this photo shows Shackleton as he embarks on the Shackelton-Rault expedition to the Antarctic, 24 September 1921. The photo measures 11.2cm x 8.2cm. Very Good.
