PATTINSON, JAMES - The Mystery of the 'Gregory Kotovsky'

London, George G. Harrap. 1958, First. Hard Cover, 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. A Very Good+ unmarked copy with just a little age darkening to fore edge with complete dustjacket. An exciting story of modern power politics set against a seafaring background, where Brett Manning is sent to Archangel on a business trip, and in thick fog his ship is in collision with the Gregory Kotovsky. Brett and one member of the crew are rescued, but they are forced to continue the voyage in the Russian vessel to an unnamed destination, which turns out to be a secret Soviet submarine base in the South Atlantic. Brett and his fellow prisoner realise that with the incriminating knowledge they possess, they will never be allowed to reach England alive. Luckily there are Latvians among the crew who are only too willing to help them plan a daring escape. B2D. Very Good/Good.
