A wet fly (the Dark Hendrickson) dressed by Ernest Schwiebert is mounted within a recessed rectangle on a special mat board with protective tissue. Color plates of trout and flies showing hundreds of patterns and trout species. Text illustrations and drawings. Trout is still today, 40 plus years after its publication, a monumental and influential work which has cast a wide sphere of influence over subsequent books on trout and trout fishing. Both volumes bound in blue cloth with silver titles. Matching blue cloth slip case. A nice set with very light fading to the spines - substantially less then most copies seen today. The books and slip case in near fine condition. Signed by Author.
