Sydney, Angus and Robertson. 1942, First Edition. Blue Cloth, 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Book, xii, 185 pages, map on front endpaper, one other map, many b/w plates. Name from top corner of front endpaper torn out, slight silverfishing at top corner of half-title page. Rare first edition of this classic Australian mountaineering and skiing book. Elyne Mitchell started skiing in 1936. She made many trips to the Snowy Mountains with her husband Thomas Walter Mitchell. There were no roads. Mitchell immortalised these trips in her first book, Australia's Alps. Good.
