A near Fine unmarked copy in pictorial laminated boards as dustjacket with VG+ complete dustjacket. Introduction by John Cooper. On August 26th 1959 the British Motor Corporation launched the mini, designed by Alec Issigonis, whose brief was to create a small four seater that was cheap to run and had sophisticated handling. Not a success at first, it soon gained acceptance and during the next decade, egalitarian but modish and supremely manouevrable, it was adopted by the in-crowd and acquired a veritable cult status. The book provides a fascinating portrait of this motoring legend, explores all aspects of the mini phenomenon and its numerous derivatives. A very large format volume profusely illustrated.
