Edward Lodge Curran (1898 - 1974), known as the "Father Coughlin of the East," was a Right-wing Catholic priest, president of the International Catholic Truth Society, founder of the National Committee for the Preservation of Americanism, educator, and author. His current booklet was written in support of the Nationalist Rebellion (a military uprising in Spain after the 1936 elections), decrying the Spanish Republic for its anti-religious and Communist ideas.
