Halyna Pankiw (1924 - 2016), writing under the pseudonym Hanna Cherin, was an Ukrainian-American poet and longtime librarian at the University of Chicago. She immigrated to the US in 1949, after spending time in a DP camp in Germany. The author of several collections of poetry, including the current one, and a novel, she was also known for her stories for children. Several of her poems would be set to music. Very good .
