Printz, Morritz; Biederman, Joseph - The Printzess Art Portfolio, Containing Illustrations of Printzess Suits & Coats, Spring - Summer, 1918

S. l. (Cleveland, Ohio), The Printz-Biederman Company, 1918. First Edition. Eight, double-sided, loose sheets in original lithographed folder; 17 1/2 x 7 1/2; sepia photographic images, captioned below images; sheets with minor wear to top margin and slight fold line through middle; folder's two halves separated, with a few chips to edges; overall in very good condition. An extravagant and beautiful advertising collection for Printzess garments, it illustrated the latest suits and coats for sale and was send to customers of the Printz-Biederman Company of Cleveland, Ohio. Known for their high-quality,expensive women's apparel (their wares costing anywhere from $26 to $95), the company would also become famous for the way they treated their employees, namely allowing them a direct voting voice in all matters that affected their welfare. The business was founded in 1893 by Moritz Printz and Joseph Biederman and would prosper well into the 1970s, opening offices in New York, Boston, and Chicago and employing over a thousand workers. The company would ultimately close its doors in 1978. Very good .
