New York, N. Currier, 1845. Hand-colored lithograph, subtitled below title: "Williams. Vanwart. Paulding;" 10 x 14; diagonal crease through upper right portion; spotting,mostly to margins; small nick to lower left corner; in about good condition. An early Currier print, before the Currier & Ives firm was founded, it depicted the capture of Major John Andre (1750 - 1780) - a British spy, who would be hanged during the American Revolution for assisting Benedict Arnold in his attempt to surrender the West Point fort to the British Army.
