Berlin, Polyglotte, 1928. First Edition. First edition; 8 x 5 1/2; pp. [2], 5-248, [2]; beige wraps with an Avant-garde design; age-toning to spine cover; tail of spine with 1/2 inch loss of paper; previous owner's signature to title page; in very good condition. Vasilii Kamenskii (1884 - 1961) was an author, poet, one of the major Russian Futurists, together with Severyanin, Burliuk, and Khlebnikov, member of Mayakovsky's LEF group, and founder of the Futurist group "Hylaea," which would be joined by Mayakovsky and Kruchyonykh. He was also one of the very first Russian aviators, but gave up flying after a crash in 1911. His current book, one of very few novels he wrote, described the circumstances leading to and surrounding the notorious duel between Pushkin and Leutenant Baron Georges de Heecker (Dantes). He did not, however, strive for historical accuracy. Very good .
