First edition; 5 1/2 x 7 1/2; single sheet, chromolithographed illustration, subtitle, and publisher's imprint to recto; a light blue stamp of American Art Publishing Co. to verso; very faint, tiny circular spots to corners of verso, from being previously mounted in frame; minor wear to corners; in very good to near fine condition. A lovely image of Boston Light being approached by several ships amidst turbulent seas. The lighthouse on Little Brewster Island in outer Boston Harbor was initially built in 1716 and it would be the first in what is today the United States. The current one dates from 1783 and it is the only lighthouse to still be actively staffed by the US Coast Guard. Near fine .
