David Starr Jordan (1851 - 1931) was one of the most influential of all American ichthyologists, former President of Indiana University, and the founding President of Stanford University. He was also a staunch supporter of eugenics and a great opponent of pseudoscience and was credited with coining the term "sciosophy" - a false knowledge of science. His current book contained chapters on "The Physical Basis of Heredity," "The Cell Theory," "Natural Selection," etc. Very good .
