There have been many theories as to the identity of Jack the Ripper and in this book the author believes that the answer may lie in the recently discovered diary found in Liverpool, England which states 'Yours truly, Jack the Ripper'. In it are grisly details of the murders of 1888-1889 and many clues that identify the murderer as James Maybrick, a cotton merchant from Liverpool who died in 1889 of suspected arsenic poisoning. In another celebrated case of the day Maybrick's wife Florie was accused of his murder but, as we read in the diary, his death was probably the result of his arsenic addiction. The diary is the subject of controversy and a report questioning it's authenticity is included along with a rebuttal. Illustrated by photographs and drawings and a facsimile of the diary. 21. Fine/Fine.
