In stiff cloth-covered illustrated boards size 10 by 10 cm. 130 pages. 380 illustrations. The small illustrations by each day have been hand-coloured as far as early April- with some considerable skill. A good example of an early Greenaway Birthday Book which has been used by a Victorian child. There are over 25 entries in various hands- it appears that the owner had her friends and family enter their own names and birthdays; the name of the original owner an E M Byass appears on the presentation page. Other surnames include Garrett Wimble Davies Bourdon Draper Taylor Garraway Ashton Sergeant and Allen.Original spine relaid. New endpapers. The boards are good with some hand-colouring to the vignettes. Images available.
