London, Baldwin and Cradock. 1831. Book, Map of England and Wales in Five Parts published by Baldwin and Cradock London 1830-31. Engraved by J & C Walker. Each map is on folding linen size 42 by 34 cm. and in eight sections. A key gives details of canals rivers and railways. Hand-coloured. Heights shown by hachuring. A very detailed series of maps. Folds into marbled endpapers and into slipcase with original label. Some foxing to some of the sea areas in maps I and V. The original owner has written the names of the various counties contained in each of the five maps on paper which they have pasted to the marbled covers. The slipcase has a date (1830) and a name ink on the label which also bears a faded stamp. Maps Good to VG condition slipcase sound but rubbed and worn to edges. Images available.
