Book, Wyld's Map of England Wales and Scotland describing all the Direct and principal Cross Roads in Great Britain with Distances measured between the Market Towns and from London; likewise the Great Rivers and Navigable Canals and Railroads published by Wyld London circa 1850. On folding linen in 24 sections size 78 by 67 cm. Scale approximately 16 miles to the inch. Key gives an explanation of railways completed and in progress along with information on turnpike roads cross roads mail coach roads canals principal stations etc. Includes an inset map of the north of Scotland. Some hand-colouring. Folds into red cloth covers. There are a couple of small pin holes outside the margins of the map at the top and bottom that seem to suggest that it was pinned up at some point. Good condition. With (later) red slipcase (VG). Images available.
