She worked at Doubleday & Company in the early 40s, where she apparently met Ediwn Gilbert judging by his inscription: "..It is inconceivable to think of doing a third novel without you about the publisher's premises." Though, she was most widely known for her long career as a CIA agent and her marriage to Jerome William Robin - Chief of the San Francisco office of the CIA in the 70s. Edwin Gilbert himself was a screenplay writer in Holywood in the early 40s before moving to New York and becoming a novelist. He wrote the screenplays for 'All Through the Night,' starring Humphrey Bogart and 'Larceny, Inc.' with Anthony Quinn and Jackie Gleason.
