Contains a series of accounts (in French) of the expeditions of explorers including amongst others Walsh; Thomas and Lyall; Quin; Gamba and Demidoff; Cappell Brooke; Twining; de la Segia; Albert Montemont (naturally); Fulchiron and Nervo.320 pages size 29 cm by 20 cm. Illustrated with many black & white topographical engravings and 8 hand-coloured lithographs by Mettais of some of the indigenous peoples of the region. In blue boards with gold blind-stamped decorations and title. Some major wear to the corners of the boards and to the head and foot of the spine and minor foxing in places. A good reading copy with all illustrations and text intact. Images available.
