Jean Cabassut (?1604-1685) from Aix was moral theologian, church historian and canonist. His Notitia conciliorum were first published in Lyon in 1668 and in 1680 at the instigation of Cardinal Grimaldi augmented to the notitia Ecclesiastica, a work that went through many editions. As Cabassutius it was for a long time the authorative source for the history of the councils of the Roman Catholic Church. Some marginal waterstaining in last 10 leaves. The extra leaves marked with asterisk concern an extension of the section on (semi-)pelagianism. Hurter, II, p. 461
