bookfever.com (Volk and Iiams, Booksellers) specialize in first editions of twentieth century literature, with an emphasis on women authors, African American, Native American and Latin American authors - plus mystery & detective fiction, science fiction & fantasy, poetry and children's & illustrated books. We have smaller selections available in the areas of Western Americana and Women in the West and in Hawaiiana. We try to offer many uncommon books, and have a large selection of first books, and books by authors who are less frequently collected. Of the approximately 50,000 volumes in stock (over 20,000 listed online), the majority are hardcover first editions, although we also stock vintage science fiction paperbacks as well as SF digests and pulps. We also have a large selection of books signed by the author and uncorrected proof copies. Less than 50% of our stock is catalogued, so please inquire if you are searching for specific titles.
We have been selling books primarily by mail since 1993, but we also have a retail outlet with a selection of general stock with an emphasis on Western literature and history is at our store-within-a-store, BOOKS UPSTAIRS at Antiques Upstairs, 5 Main Street, Jackson, CA. (open every day from 10-5.)
We also welcome visitors by appointment at our location on Tonzi Road, between Ione and Sutter Creek in the central Mother Lode country of the Sierra Foothills where the books are stored in a large building we built for them. In addition to browsing the books, you are welcome to picnic on our 10 acres of rolling hills, and we can provide directions to other bookstores, wineries, restaurants and historical attractions in the area.

Returns Policy: Satisfaction guaranteed! Full return privileges, within 10 days, for any reason, as long as the book is returned in the same condition as it was sent. We ask that you notify us first, before actually sending the book back.
Shipping: USA Priority mail: US$6.00 for 1st book, US$3.00 for each additional book (our preferred method for most books); media mail $3.50 for first book, $1 for each additional book (best for heavy books or if not in a hurry - if you prefer media mail, just let us know). Canada and Mexico: Most books are sent internationally via priority mail (flat rate) for US $11.00; lightweight books will be sent by air mail and will be less expensive. Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, Australia and all other countries: Most books are sent internationally via priority mail (flat rate) for US $13.50.
