Dee Why Books opened in 1994 at 17 Howard Avenue, Dee Why, a suburb on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. The shop was so small, only one person at a time was able to work behind the sales counter. Our reputation for having the right book at the right time at a fantastic low price brought us customers from all over Sydney. The shop got very crowded. In January 1996, we combined our small shop in with the larger neighbouring shop and created a bookshop with the space our books demanded. In October 1999, we started with a moderate 1234 books on the Internet. Today, we have over 30,000 book titles on line and our website handles many orders each day, locally and internationally. Operating a shop, a warehouse, an office and a store room, all in different places, proved to be very difficult. In February 2001, we bought our new warehouse and office: Dee Why Books, Unit 31, 14 Jubilee Avenue, Warriewood, NSW 2102. Jubilee Avenue is located on the South Eastern corner of Mona Vale Road and Daydream Street, Warriewood, about 25 km from the Sydney CBD. Since January 2002, Dee Why Books has been operating as an Internet Bookshop only. Member of ANZAAB/ILAB Australian and New Zealand Association of Antiquarian Booksellers Limited since July 2002. Some of our specializations are: Modern First Editions & Rare Signed Books, General Fiction, Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Modern Literature, Art, Gardening, Cuisine, Flora & Fauna, General Sport, Rugby, Cricket, Football, Golf, Sailing, Plays, Poetry, Drama, Entertainment, War, History, Biography, True Crime, Australiana, Politics, Aviation, Maritime, General Transport, Philosophy, Psychology, New Age, Business, Science & Technology, Engineering & Mathematics. |
