We are a fulltime internet used, out-of-print, and antiquarian bookstore catering to collectors and readers alike.
Our business has been in operation since 1995 and we have been selling on the internet since 1999.
We have a general stock with larger catalogues being Military History, Science Fiction/Fantasy, Children's, Art, Antiques, History. Our on-line inventory grows daily as we add new books, so check our catalogues regularly for updates.
Items offered are subject to prior sale, however we do delete titles as soon as we receive an order so as to minimize any disappointment.
All orders are processed promptly. Our goal is to ship your book (s) within 24 to 48 hrs. We will e-mail you when we have shipped. We always try to keep you informed!
Shipping Rates
Shipping rates are based upon the weight of a standard size book (8vo) or a large format trade paperback up to 1kg (2.2lbs).
Larger, heavier books and sets will be shipped at cost. We will e-mail you a quote for your approval, before we ship.
Mass market paperback books, in many cases, will cost less to ship to the U.S.A. and Internationally. We will inform you by e-mail or adjust the charge when we process your order.

Regular Parcel Post: 2 to 9 Business Days - $10.00 U.S. to $19.00 U.S. depending upon your province/territory (Up to 1 kg/2.2 lbs)
U.S.A.
Surface Mail: 8 to 14 Business Days - $12.50 U.S. (Up to 1 kg/2.2 lbs)
Air Mail: 4 to 7 Business Days - $15.50 U.S. (Up to 1 kg/2.2 lbs)
International
Surface Mail: 6 to 20 Weeks - $15.50 U.S. to 18.00 U.S. (Up to 1 kg/2.2 lbs)
Air Mail: 5 to 15 Business Days - $34.00 U.S. to $42.00 U.S. (Up to 1 kg/2.2 lbs)
Payment Methods Accepted
We accept VISA & MASTERCARD direct and require the following information:
1) the full name as it appears on the card
2) the full 16 digit number (xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx)
3) 4 digit expiry date (xx/xx)
4) 3 or 4 digit CCV security code (back of card)
5) billing address;
or a Personal, Business or Cashiers Check in U.S.$, CAD$, U.K. Pounds or EUROS; an International Money Order; and PayPal (PayPal email is capricornbks@sympatico.ca).
Please note the following:
If you would like to pay by check or money order we will confirm the total cost, including shipping, by email. Please make your check or money order payable to "Capricorn Books" - thank you. We will ship your book(s) upon receipt of payment.
Canadian customers will be charged 5% GST on the price of the book.
Refunds
Books may be returned if not as described within 10 days. Please e-mail us prior to returning book.
Holds
Books will be held for 7 days max., after which time they will be put back up for sale.
Insurance
Available upon request at cost.
