We carry a constantly changing stock of around 7000 books in all categories - although you may find we have a preponderance of books about subjects in which we are personally interested, such as the English countryside, folk music, fishing, horse riding, childrens books (especially 1950's and 60's pony stories) and crime fiction.
We are happy to provide further description of any of our books by e-mail or over the telephone. As we are frequently out on book buying trips please make use of our answering machine and we'll call you back.
Shipping is charged extra at cost and the amount will vary according to the destination, the shipping method and the weight of the books ordered. Please advise us how you would prefer your books shipped at the time of ordering. If ordering from within the UK the cost is likely to be about GBP2.50, and books will usually arrive in 1-3 working days.
If ordering from Europe airmail will be about GBP4.00 and surface mail about GBP3.50 - airmail will usually arrive in 3-4 days, and surface mail in around 7-10 days.
If ordering from North America, or anywhere outside Europe, airmail is likely to cost about GBP8.00, and surface mail about GBP4.00 - airmail generally takes about a week, but surface mail may take anything from a couple of weeks to 3 months.

Books are sent by the next available postal collection following receipt of payment. We send mail every week day.
Card payments can be accepted by Visa, MasterCard, AmEx, JCB, Maestro, Solo and Switch. Paypal transfers are accepted to our registered e-mail address (which is books@aucott.co.uk). We also accept payment by Sterling cheques and Sterling International Money Orders (made payable to 'Aucott & Thomas'), or by Euro notes, and US or Australian dollar bills. Non Sterling cheques can be accepted, but bank conversion fees mean a £10 (US$18 or €15) surcharge per cheque must be added.
All books are published in London, except where stated. Customers are invited to contact us if they would like more information about a particular book - photographs are available for all our books. We always try to be accurate. If an error in description is made, we will refund the full price but please contact us before returning the book.
